The Wasteless Society in Bishop's Castle
Well 2010 has got off to an active start - with HES winning the Big Green Challenge, the Swapshop, and many other Wasteless activities planned - including a Green Guide for the Bishops Castle area, the Bishop's Castle Bag (in line with the no-plastic-bag Zero Waste Place initiative).
So 2010 will be a year that BC moves more towards becoming a Transition Town (although we haven't adopted the Transition label).
Thanks to all our contributors to the newsletter and to all our supporters, and those of you
living as greenly as you can! Just to remind you, our strap-line is "Encouraging the responsible use of the Earth's resources"
Please support us in future by keeping in touch, sending in your ideas and opinions for the
next newsletter, attending our events and encouraging other people to join Wasteless Society.
Together we can make a big difference.
And it's the domestic decisions that count: about which fuel we use to keep us warm and
fed, buying local food and growing our own, where we go on holiday, whether to take the car or the bus, how we deal with our rubbish, and ensuring that we minimise use of electricity and other energy resources! Go well!
The Wasteless Society has premises in Bishop's Castle at The Old Primary School, Church Street, SY9 5AE.
(above the pharmacy - the entrance is round the back in New Street)
The hours of opening are : Wednesdays and Fridays 10am to 3 pm.
You are welcome to drop in for a chat or to ask questions during these hours.
